This is the 16th season for this long-standing tradition in historic downtown Denton. Papa Larry Garavaglia has been in the restaurant business for the better part of 40 years, during which time he met and married his wife Carole. They left Detroit, Michigan in 1976, and ventured to Texas, where their son Tony was born on February 4, 1984. Tony has been the inspiration for Big Tony's Grill. We hope this will be a great opportunity for you gain some exposure and have a good time playing your music. Some information about the concerts follow: SHOW You will be performing on May 29th at Liquid Lounge which is at 2800 Main St. in Dallas. Your set time will start sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The doors for the show will open at 7:00 p.m. and the cover will be $5.00. The show is 17 & up for the public. AUDIENCE VOTE The audience will vote for each musician that they like by raising their hands at the end of each musician's set. The most voted musician wins a guitar (whichever of the guitars used for the show that they wish). Vince, I would encourage you to get as much support out to the show as you can to give yourself the best chance to earn those votes. The audience can vote as many times as they like and most people will vote for more than one musician but the more fans you have there, the better your chances will be. Also keep in mind that a crowd draws a crowd. The more people that are behind you, the more attention you will get from the rest of room. JURY We will also have a panel of judges that will decide the winner. The winner, chosen by this panel will continue onto the next level of the competition and perform in New York at the Legendary "Bitter End" on Tuesday, July 3rd in the National Final. There is no enrollment fee. At the end of each concert, the best acoustic guitar player, chosen by the public, will win an acoustic Takamine or Ovation guitar. The winner of Emergenza Acoustic Hero 2007 will go to Germany to play at the Taubertal Open Air Festival How does it work If you want to take part of the Emergenza Acoustic Hero you… 1. have to live in one the cities where the Festival takes place 2. have to be a solo acoustic guitar player 3. have to send your application form. You will be contacted soon for an audition. The best guitar players will be selected to play live. During each acoustic concert, 4-8 artists perform for 20-25 minutes. Drumsets or keyboards are not allowed. Just solo artist are accepted. Musicians will find on stage two acoustic guitars (Takamine and/or Ovation) they play with. Guitar players can use their own guitar if they have an Ovation or a Takamine guitar. Votation At the end of each performance the public votes by raising the hand. The most voted guitar player wins an Ovation or Takamine guitar. A jury choses the winner who will move on to the next level. The National Final The National Final takes place in New York, July 2007.The winner of the National Final chosen by the jury wins a trip to Germany at the Taubertal Open Air Festival, August 2007.
